Mahbod Shirvani is an Iranian multimedia composer and tar player based in the United States. His transdisciplinary practice spans intermedia composition and electronics, drawing Persian classical material into AI-mediated, microtonal, and glitch-inflected processes concerned with memory, forgetting, and cultural transmission.

He has released works and albums, participated in international festivals and conferences including Cube Fest, the SEAMUS National Conference, and the Mizzou International Composers Festival, where he was a 2024 resident composer. He has collaborated with a range of ensembles and orchestras including the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Alarm Will Sound, Hypercube, and Taceti. In Iran, he worked as a performer and composer for theater and film. He holds a BM in Persian Music Performance from the University of Tehran and an MM in Composition from the University of Missouri, and is pursuing a DMA in Composition at The Ohio State University.
